The Department has a good reputation in practical class and cooperative education program with more than 80 companies, including famous hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, and special local products in Hualien. The job opportunities increase every year.

A. Local area
The statistics in 2017 shows there are more than18 thousands companies in the tourism industry, including 200 hotels and thousands B&B. It provides the department great opportunities in research, innovation, and employment.
B. Taiwan
In recent years, the development of the recreation, tourism, hospitality, and leisure industry has prospered, due to vigorous promotion by the government and continuously increasing international tourists.
It attracts a lot of tourists to visit Hualien and boost the leisure industry, leading to a shortage of professionals. The department cooperates with farglory hotel, promise land resort, Hoya Resort Hotel, Parkview Hotel, Hotel Royal, Chateau de Chine, Just Sleep Hotel, Fullon Hotel, and many other hotels, provide great practical environment and employment opportunities, help students integrate theory and practice.
2. Employment planning of graduates
There are more than 90% local students in the department, therefore most of them stay in their hometown after graduation. The employment of graduates can fulfill the needs in the local area.
